Burford Wharf was built by Kier London for Dominion Housing to provide affordable accommodation. Four blocks were arranged around a plaza.

Floor slabs were constructed using post tensioned concrete which offered economy and speed. Concrete shear walls provided lateral stability. A basement provided car parking and plant space. The development was founded on CFA piles.

The structure was clad with a brickwork outer skin. A lightweight inner skin was constructed ahead of the brickwork allowing internal fitting out to proceed at an early stage. Design for acoustic separation was a important part of the team goals. The top storeys of the lower 6 storey blocks were of cold formed steel. The feature roof on top of the 19 storey block was of structural steelwork.
